MUNICIPALITY OF AMBON


1.MOREEA FROM WAISELAKA (GIANT EELS)
Morea from Wai that’s the way the community of Ambon City usually called these eel, feel doesn’t completely when we visited the village located on Salahutu District and the central mollucas province, unless to stare at these kinds of animals as eel,. Waai Vilage located approximately 30 KM away from the central city of Ambon, Actually keep the natural potency to be developed as an object of recreations place to be explored , beside the exotic of marine view and The Salahutu ridges atmosphere, this village owned one attractives traditional assets and the uniques that need to be exposed.

Waeselaka Pound, it’s the name of that place, this pound have a very clear water and located along the slope of the hills with a cool and fresh air for all days . this atmosphere supported by plenty of trees planted surround this area and generate cold and calm sensation. At the Waiselaka Pound, lives various kind of fishes and keep continually by local community generation to generation.



And the most interest and well known there is lives hundreds even thousand of morea, an animals a kind of eel that very tame and controllable by it’s master. These Morea lives in the small caves around the pounds, they will appear when it called by it’s master, These morea have the size as big as thigh of adult people with more then one metress length. The attractives power of the visitors when come to this place is to watch how is the master call the moreas out of pounds and feed them with eggs . The Visitors have the chance to touch these very slippery animals, even feed them, they will not bite you nor hurt you, for this is a tame animals, 100% guaranteed……wanna try?


2. PINTU KOTA (CITY'S GATE OF ROCKS)
There is a Giant Rock on this Beach,
Formed as a Gate and stand steady on the surface of the water. When the water comes up and the gate shut, the water comes down and gate open again perhaps because of this event that place called by local peoples as ‘Pintu Kota (City’s Gate)’. When we arrived at the sunny day in the afternoon, this Giant Rock looks as redish & brownish image, That’s cool….

3. COMMONWEALTH WAR CEMETERY
War Cemetery. This places was a cemetery of Australian soldier which died in the battle filed against Japanese during second world war located in Tantui, Just in the road side and not far from Indonesian’s National Hero cemetery the places where indonesian’s hero were buried which was died in mollucas‘ rebellion on the year 1950 – 1960. There is 2137 grave in Ambon war cemetrery, consist of 1092 Australian People, 810 england people, 30 india peoples, 2 Canadian, 1 New Zealand, 1 South Africa, 186 Deutch, and 15 another allies. They came from 210 of Navy, 1229 of Army Force, 694 of Air Force & 1 of Marchant ship crew . These cemetery located on Ex-Australian’ war prisoners village which was died by the time of invasion of Japanese in Ambon and Timor..


4. FORT AMSTERDAM
This fortress is the second fortress of the Dutch in Ambon City, build after the initial fortress called 'Compaigne Van Verre', located in village of Seith. A blind writer named George Everhard Rumph stayed in this fortress. He wrote an article about the botanical live in Ambon

5. NATSEPA BEACH
Natsepa Beach which is located on Suli Village, Salahutu District and Central Mollucas Province, Known as one of Recreation place in Ambon City. That beach is about 18 KM’s away from the Central City of Ambon and usually become one of the favorite place of local people to enjoy and to spend their weekend & vacation day. This beach have a large area along the sea side and well known with a beautifull sands beaches. Entering this beach area the visitor will see a row of traditional desert retailers along the sea shore which is Rujak (mix of fruits stir with nuts) and some other traditional foods, that’s delicious for sure…
